Felt

two hearts beat... keeping a rhythm... a melody as old as time... yet feels so new... crescendos of excitement, of love, of understanding... then the pendulum swings... and the tune changes... tempers flare... voices raise... rhythmic  beats replaced by the quiet ticking of a metronome... keeping place...marking time... hurt feelings, bruised egos... and the metronome drones on... keeping place...marking time... and then the quiet... now it's just the  memories... and awkward silences... that cling like cobwebs... unseen but always... felt

Swell

slow and steady has it purpose... a time and season for everything... but the season I am in... heady, strong... fast... hard... deep... delving searching...plumbing the depths... forceful...demanding...reason lost... no longer simmering but boiling, threatens to burn both of us... awash in sweat... engulfed in passion... riding the swell

Nite Nite..

Sleep...no I'm not suggesting that you go to sleep right now. But sleep is something that we have to do no matter what...yes even those of us who have had a lightning incident alter their sleep patterns so that they average about 4-5 hours of sleep/night (that's a story for another time)...but yes even WE have to sleep. Personally, I am not a big fan of sleep. Why? Well that's because - what? Ok. No, Ok I will tell them. Sorry about that but my agent (yeah, uh huh lol) my agent wants to make sure that I give a few reasons why sleep is vital so here goes: Rest & Restore - The human body needs sleep in order to give our bodies time to recover from all we put them through during any given day. Health Problems - Lack of sleep can lead to problems such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney problems, even stroke. Weight loss - Lack of sleep can be a culprit in adding on the pounds (no this does NOT give you permission to do your best sleeping princess/pr...

Food 4 Thought

How many of you eat food? Yeah really? Me too? Now how many of you are sick of it? Oh it’s just me? Fine - I mean I'm not saying I want to quit eating (there's a very serious condition and that is NOT what I'm talking about) What I'm saying is that I'm basically BORED with food? Think about it...what do you eat? Hmm let's see I'm going to guess, chicken, beef, pork...yeah they are good, GREAT even (especially BACON!!! OMG) but how many times do you eat the same thing say every 3 days? Not me...I'm a VEGETARIAN!...I don't eat MEAT" Ok cool but still you ONLY eat vegetables! If you're normal (hmm, ok average? Is average better than normal? I think so)...so if you're AVERAGE you probably don't like every vegetable available to you. So you end up eating the same handful of veggies You probably use your CREATIVITY in the preparation of your VEGETARIAN DELIGHTS but it's still THE SAME FOOD!! Vegan, you say? Wel...

Peter Piper Picked A Pepper, But My Name's Not Pepper

You ever wonder why you weren't picked? Maybe you don't know the hurt of being in school and being the last one standing when picking teams for dodgeball, softball or kickball teams.(Hey, I was/am a nerd so I did get selected for the debate team, math-letes WOOHOO) But those of you who are not familiar with that pain, let me tell you - All you can think of at that point is WHY NOT ME?  WHY DIDN'T THEY PICK ME? WHY DON'T THEY LIKE ME? Now, most times it's not about popularity - unless you are trying to be chosen for a team led by a gaggle of mean chicks - but I digress.  My question is this - when does it stop? Actually, does it ever or does it just carry over into other parts of our lives? Okay, let's look at a few examples: When you through your hat in the ring for a new job or promotion, you're probably pitted against a bunch of other applicants. If you're not selected, do those thoughts run through your mind? WHY NOT ME? WHY DIDN'T THEY PICK ME?...

You're NOT the Boss of Me!

Hey there folks! So, let's talk about work for a minute. Okay, well not work exactly but let's talk about bosses. Yeah those people who usually get paid the big bucks, have the corner office with the great view and the EA that is harder to get past than a secret service agent? LOL Now some of us have been lucky enough to have really great bosses (I'm not gonna name names - ok initials ALW) but there's probably also been at least one, if you're old enough, that hasn't been so great (am NOT even posting initials...) Just in case you've been blessed and fortunate enough to escape the trials of a not-so-great (AKA HORRIBLE) boss, here are:  10 Signs of a Terrible Boss/Supervisor   Believes the entire world is theirs and you poor schmucks are lucky to be in their presence.  Reminds you daily that you can be replaced  Thrives on setting you up for failure (i.e. giving you tasks that you aren't prepared for)  Pits you and another employee against...
