Switched

If you've been following my blog at all, you know that I have some pretty random thoughts. And today is no exception (SMILE)  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be someone else? Not necessarily someone famous...or heck, infamous for that matter. Just someone other than yourself? For instance, what is a day in the life of the person who has the office across from yours? Does he/she have a happy home life? Is the reason they seem to be so happy at work because their home life SUX!!??? Do they lead a sexy double-life? Maybe they work 9 to 5 in the office with you but on nights and weekends they are ahem  "phone operators" (wink wink). You heard the story about the so called soccer mom who was also, allegedly, operating an escort service?  What would you find out if you spent 24 hours as someone else? Who would you be? Would you pick a famous person? Office mate (You're so nosy, lol)? Or maybe just someone of a different gender or ethnicity? Ooh THAT wou

Never Satisfied

Hello Blogosphere! What should we talk about today? Oh I know, I reader posed a question to me the other day and I think it was a pretty good question. Let's see what you think? Why do we always want what we can't/don't have? The list of examples is exhaustive but how about these: A woman with straight hair complains that her hair just won't hold a curl. Person with beautiful brown eyes wants blue eyes  - so they purchase colored contact lenses. Person with very little money wishes they were wealthy. Person with lots of money wishes they had less money - WAIT, really? Hmm...okay there was that song about "more money, more problems" so maybe that's it.  These are all pretty good by the reader who posed the original question had something a bit different in mind. Their question was in reference to r

Senseless

Sometimes my thoughts go to places that others' thoughts don't stray. Ok, so maybe  most of the time my thoughts go where others fear to tread. Like, in the past few hours I've watched two movies that had at their core the loss of a sense. The first was about a woman who'd lost her sense of hearing. It was a tearjerker of the highest water, as she fell in love with a man who's passion was, of all things, music. It had a devastatingly heart breaking ending (hello, tearjerker) but it was tinged with happiness. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Several tissues later, I went in search of my next Sunday afternoon movie.I came across another movie about the loss of sense - touch. The main character can move, and hear, and see but he can't feel anything. Nothing. Of course, there's a deeper back-story but it got me to thinking... Of all of the senses, which of the senses would you miss the most? I'd thought about what it must be like to be blind. I figured I'
