Frankly Friday

This is the first entry in a series of Friday entries called "Frankly Friday". It  will be posts about, hmmm, well...nothing in particular and everything in general. There may be only one or two entries per Friday or multiple entries. It all depends on YOU!  So, who's ready for some random cohesiveness???
Football
A big congratulations to the UNC-Tarheels who clinched their first ACC win last night in Blacksburg, VA. They took on the #13 Hokies and brought home what had been an elusive conference win. I have to admit - they had me worried in the first quarter, but they rallied and kept fighting. Special shout outs: #64 - Jonathan Cooper COOOOOP- I saw you putting in work, Baby Boi! Keep holding them back and knocking them down. Much love. #54 Bruce Carter - BRRUUUCCCEEE! That dude thought he was gonna sneak by you, huh? NOT! #8Greg Little - Do you practice those spin moves or do they come naturally? Sorry, I'm not sure of this player's name/number but to the punter who became a linebacker last night - You betta do it, son! You neatly laid that hokie out! Way to hold him! And to #11 Casey Barth - great kicks! When the pressue was on (game tied 17-17) , you stepped up and made sure that an OT session was not necessary.
Good job, gentleman. Enjoy the bye week because on 11/7 you have another task - march on down 15-501 and handle those uprights and own that scoreboard, fellas!

Work It

I found an old photo of me from many moons ago. I'm talking acid washed jeans, big glasses, big hair - the whole 9 yards. It's just a casual shot - me and a friend chilling on the couch (uh, no I don't plan to post it LOL) - but it got me thinking about yester-year or days of old (sheesh, that sounds kinda knightly)...You know, those days when your biggest worries included "are the quarter pounder combos on sale this week? Is HE going to ask me out? For Prom??" (HE didn't but I went to prom anyway and had a BLAST!) This is also about the time I got my first taste of adulthood - A JOB! A real one! Like actually doing things for someone other than my parents and grandparents in order to maintain my allowance (yes, I was one of those kids). Employee ID, Clock-In/Out, an actual check - shoot couldn't tell me nothing. I was a working WOMAN after all (okay so a working TEEN but still, LOL)  Guess where I worked? No, go ahead I'll wait... Time's u...

Golden Haze

There I was...minding my own business (no really, I was - this time) thought I'd do some note taking, some observing (okay maybe not completely minding my own business), get some ideas for some posts...and the craziest thing happened. I started noticing a few people walk by my table, look at me - stare at me really, some snickered, some outright laughed. I was thinking sheesh, what's up? No one said anything - just looked at me, looked down at my table, looked at me, laughed or chuckled and walked away...that was until this guy walked over and sat down next to me. Immediately, my internal alert system went into overdrive!!! STRANGER DANGER!!! Then he says the craziest thing to me... Stranger: Hey, yeah so are you here regularly?  (ALARM IS GETTING LOUDER)  Me: Excuse me? Stranger: Nah, I'm just saying if you're here like on the reg, and you're bold enough to advertise the merch I'm straight going to switch my loyalty to you.  Me: DAFUQ!  (INTER...

You Don't Have To be so mean

Someone asked me the other day " hey, don't you ever get tired of being so happy and positive all the time? How can you be so NICE?" I was thrown! Ok maybe not completely since I've heard a little about this before. "You always have a smile on your face...you're so happy...you're so NICE to EVERYBODY...I really like talking to you...thank you for being so kind...-it's rare" Even though I've heard these comments before, it still surprises me a little. Not that people think I'm nice but that so many people experience the opposite - often enough that they are shocked enough to comment. Makes you, ok me, wonder why are so many people not nice? Just plain old mean? How do they get that way? Can't make me believe that people are born that way...hmm course i have a seen pictures of newborn babies with some pretty mean mugs. Looking like they've been here before and experienced all the atrocities of life ALREADY!  But really - why?  ...
