Add this one to your watch list...

The Possession (2012) Opens This Friday, August 31  This movie looks just creepy enough to be good. Ok, so it's a movie about a little girl who's been possessed. I know what you're saying "Yeah yeah - cute little girl, creepy possession - insert Catholic priest, right?" WRONG!! Well, so you're mostly right (cute little girl, creepy possession) but this isn't a film with a Roman Catholic slant. The Possession involves...(wait for it)... a  Jewish demon! Sn: don't buy anything from a yard sale that you can't open and inspect beforehand. Why? Watch the clip...

What if vengeance was yours???

I was flipping through the channels on cable the other night and ran across this movie called   "The Hit List".  Have you seen it? It came out last year and stars Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Cole Hauser. It's about  a down-on-his-luck guy who gets a weird proposition while drinking his cares away in a bar. Now, our guy is by his own admission a human punching bag. He gets knocked around at work, at home by his wife and best friend and some shifty-sounding guy who does a tap dance on his face. Later, our guy meets a new "best friend" who asks him to make a hit list. Now, it's a hypothetical list, right? And as it turns out, is quite cathartic and therapeutic. Unfortunately for our guy, his new "best friend" is the real deal Holyfield!  Can you imagine? Suppose the people you hate - say  the top five - start dropping like flies? Sure you were mad at these fools but you didn't want them really dead!!! To make matters worse, you cant tell anyone what

Ice Age...

There's an adage that goes something like " there's a reason for everything". I admit, that I often have a hard time accepting those words at face value. I mean really - there's a reason why there are children going hungry when there are people who are so rich they can't put all the zero's in their check book registers?! Somewhere, I'm sure there's a lesson to be learned about helping others and recognizing the staggering dichotomies that exist on earth between the haves and have nots...I'm just saying I haven't figured it out yet. I say all that to say - with everything that's going on in this thing we call life, do we really think "re-creating" plant life from over 30,000 years ago is the way to go? REALLY? Have we not all seen this movie? Spielberg, Sam Neill, Laura Dern... couple of cute kids... oh yeah and these guys... Granted the paleo-life in the film didn't get kicked off by paleo-plant life but by a mosquito

Joke of the Day

Okay so maybe this one is so so wrong - but it's equally funny! Enjoy!!   With all the new technology  regarding fertility recently, a  65-year-old friend of mine was able to give birth.   When she  was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to  visit. 'May I see the new baby?' I asked 'Not yet,' She said  'I'll make coffee and we can visit for a while first.' Thirty  minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?' 'No, not yet,' She said. After another few minutes had  elapsed, I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?' 'No, not yet,' replied my  friend. Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the  baby?' 'WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me. 'WHEN HE CRIES?' I  demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he  CRIES?' "BECAUSE I  FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, OK."?
